Serve it up
“When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:41-45).
This year we will be talking about serving. In each of our StuMin gathering, we will be exploring what it means to serve like Jesus, and we will be putting it into practice. It is based on Charles Swindoll’s book, Improving Your Serve

SEPTEMBER
HUMILITY
Overview: It all begins with humility. We will wrestle with our pride and seek to live a life of a servant which is one of humility

HONESTY
Overview: Being honest with ourselves is some times hard for use to be,… and I mean really honest. What are our motives? One aspect of being a servant is living an authentic, HONEST, life.

NOVEMBER
UNSELFISHNESS
Overview: This is a hard one. We start out from day one of our life with “feed me,” “hold me,” “notice me,” “love me.” We are born selfish. It is going against everything in us to be unselfish. But we’ll never be able to SERVE IT UP to others unless we can get our eyes off of us and onto others.
